Have you ever been woke up by your thoughts or dreams in the middle of the night and your mind starts racing with thoughts and you can’t go back to sleep? This happens to me quite often when I go to bed at night and I’m thinking about my business or something that may be going on with my family.
Last night was one of those nights! I was asking myself right before I went to sleep, what would my readers like to know more about that would help them generate more cash from their business. At 4:15 this morning I woke up with the answer.
If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know that I’m not an advanced blogger. Since I have been spending quite a bit of time learning the right way to use my blog to put out good content and also help generate cash, I decided to start sharing what I’ve learned.
So, over the next couple of weeks or so, I’m going to do a series of blog posts about Blogging For Cash. Not one right after the other, because I have a lot of other great content that I want to share with you, but every two or three days I’ll add another segment about blogging. I’ll take you through the steps I’ve learned and put into practice. Okay let’s get started with part one!
PART 1 - Blogging For Cash
Introduction - The Basics
With the numerous way to make money on the Internet, making money with a blog has to be the easiest - and the most enjoyable. You can actually make money doing something that holds interest to you.
Blogging has been around now for a while. Other online activities have come and gone- but blogging has stayed, and more and more people start blogging each and every day. Some do it just for fun, while others blog for funa dn cash.
There are a very few steps to blogging for cash. Here is a short list of what you must do before you can start posting on your blog.
1. Choose a topic to blog about. Ideally, this will be a topic that you enjoy talking about and a market for. No matter what topic you choose, there will be a group of people who are interested. That group may be large or small. The important thing is to choose a niche where money is being spent. At the same time, you don’t want to be too broad with your topic.
For example, ‘Flowers’ is a broad term. ‘Roses’ is a more targeted term and ‘Red Roses’ is an even more targeted term. The more defined your niche the better chance you have of dominating your niche.
2. You need a domain name. You will want to pick a domain name that includes the main keywords for your niche. Keep your domain name to 3-4 words maximum and alway get a .com name. You can go to GoDaddy and do a search to see if the domain name you pick is available.
Choose a domain related to your topic, easy to remember and as short as possible. To register your domain will costs your about $10. I usually register my domain with my web hosting service.
3. You’ll need to get web hosting. The best web hosting to get for a blog is one that offers a CPanel and has Fantastico available. Be sure to ask your prospective web hosting company if they offer this. These two items make it easy to set up your blog. This is where you will want to purchase and register your new domain name. A good web host shouldn’t cost you more than ten dollars or so a month. Bluehost is an excellent choice as is HostGator - both have great relability.
There are many choices of blog software, but the easiest to install and use is WordPress. WordPress also works well with Search Engine Optimation. The 3 items listed above are the main items you’ll need for your blog.
